Product Description
These steel bangles, by The Caliber Collection, are made from recycled guns pulled from the streets as a result of the Newark (NJ) Police Department gun buy back amnesty program. Citizens can turn in any gun, no questions asked, and get paid for the weapon. It's a great way to get these (often illegal) guns out of circulation. A portion of the proceeds from the purchase of this bangle is donated to fund the continued success of this program.
The slightly oval bracelet is hammered into shape and carries a serial number that corresponds with one of the guns that was taken off the streets. Embedded next to the serial number is a single diamond (approx 0.11cts). Yes, this is a conflict-free diamond.
Since the pieces are handmade, no two are exactly alike.

More on The Caliber Collection:
The Caliber Collection is a series of jewelry pieces made from guns and bullet casings pulled from the streets. It embodies the gun’s transformation from a destructive weapon into a powerful symbol of renewal. Likewise, the story of Newark, NJ is being rewritten under the leadership of Mayor Cory Booker, and Hipcycle and The Caliber Collection are honored to play a small role in supporting the rebirth of this great American city.
Each of the guns used in these products is carefully processed and released to The caliber Collection by the Newark Police Department. They are then shredded, and ready to be reborn. Also, their serial numbers were tracked, becoming an important part of the design in each of the pieces.
