Books and light bulbs go together like, well, books and light bulbs!
Remember the old light bulb upcycling tutorial? It's been a while, eh? Well I didn't forget about it... but I'm one of those people that start a bunch of projects and take a loooong time to finish them. I still have a ton of old light bulbs, so stay tuned for more ideas!
Tools:
- Pencil
- Utility knife
- Scissors
Supplies:
- Old hardback book
- 3 light bulbs
- Old cardboard
- If you haven't already cleaned out your light bulbs, do so now.
- Trace a circle onto the cardboard of approximately one inch. Do so three times.
- Cut out circles and line up on the old book in the desired location of the light bulb bud vases.
- Trace around circles onto book.
- Use utility knife to cut out circles.
- Set vases on top, and you're finished!
Note: You may need to increase the width of the circles and cut deeper than anticipated to ensure a secure fit for the light bulb bud vases. Keep going until it's secure!

While I wouldn't recommend throwing a light bulb on the floor to see if it breaks, they're really stronger than you might expect. My tutorial for cleaning them out is here; do plan on breaking at least one light bulb before you perfect your technique. It's really easier than you'd expect- even for a klutz like me! :)

Isn't lightbulb glass fragile? And how do you turn the bulb into a vase?
