Recently going through my computer desk, I found a whole bunch of old, outdated CD-ROMS- the kind that are so old that no one would want them. This meant one thing- I needed to figure out what to do with them!
You all know I love upcycling paper, and this is no exception. Quite frankly, I'm really not very pleased with the finished result in this case, but perhaps some of you crafty readers could improve upon the concept and share with me?
Tools:
Pencil
Scissors
Craft sponge (handled)
Supplies:
Old CDs or CD-ROMs
Sheet music (or other paper)
Thin sheets of cork
Mod Podge or other sealant
- Trace the outside of the CD onto the paper and the cork.
- Cut out.
- Apply a layer of Mod Podge to one side of the CD.
- Center the sheet music circle on top of the CD. Press down and smooth.
- If your cork came with two-sided adhesive stickers, use them to attach the cork to the CD. If not, use some Mod Podge!
- If necessary, cut along the edges of the cork that is extending past the CD.
- Rub finger along the edges of the cork to smooth.
- Apply multiple, thin coats of Mod Podge, allowing to dry in between coats.
