As the flower bulbs are peeking out in front of my house (my husband and I can't agree on what exactly we planted), I'm starting to plan my garden for the year. Ever expanding since we first bought the house, I find it difficult to focus on planning the actual garden with such awesome upcycled products Hipcycle offers for the garden! As a country girl I still like to play in the dirt (and mud), but there are some things that could make my life so much easier!
While I'm thrilled to have a new spicket by my garden this year, I wonder how much money one of the rain barrels could save us over the course of a summer. Easy to install (I think even I could do it!), I'm sure I would water my plants more if I had one...
I really want a compost pile, but I REALLY don't want to have to do the work to turn it over! A tumbling composter would solve the problem of garbage waste (no more stinky trash can!) without requiring much work. Since it's waist level, it's something I know I can use even in my golden years.... and who doesn't love free, organic fertilizer!
When it comes time to harvest, I never seem to bring enough bowls outside with me. Underestimating the amount of ripe strawberries or tomatoes, I tend to waste valuable time and energy going in and out of the house grabbing more containers. I think a few large tire buckets would solve this problem for me, as long as I remembered to take them all out with me whenever I went out to the garden!
Last but not least, I can't forget how much my cats love to watch the birds out the window. I need a bird feeder! While the Upcycled Bottle Bird Feeder is certainly affordable for any budget, I long for the classy look of the Traffic Light Bird Feeder. Plus, it would be right by the road so everyone that drives by could admire how stylin' I am!
