    Magazine Bowl Tutorial

Posted on September 27, 2011 by Leanna Reece

Black and white and read all over!

Just in case you haven't had your fill of fun paper upcycling tutorials, this week brings you another one! If you've already made the magazine coasters (or even the trash can!), you'll be all set to make this magazine bowl, which is really just a spin-off of the coasters.

    Tools:

    • Scissors
    • Ruler

    Supplies

    • Quick dry craft glue
    • Clear tape
    • Sealant
    • Magazine

    Nest 'em. Nest 'em good.

    1. In order to make bowls the size of mine, start by making a magazine coaster, and stop before sealing it.
    2. Prepare additional strips as with the coaster.
    3. Add a very thin line of craft glue along the side of the coaster. Be sure to place it along the top half.
    4. Wrap your first strip around the coaster, where the glue is.
    5. When you get towards the end of the strip, simply tape on another strip and continue gluing and wrapping until you reach the desired height.

Naturally, for larger bowls, make larger bases. I've found these to be perfect for my random little craft work-in-progresses, spare change, and office supplies.
