Part of a genius upcycling idea: when making jewelry from bike chain, deconstruct the links into their component sub-parts and use those in the design, rather than the whole darn chain. The result? A lighter weight and more delicate piece, and the resulting "building blocks" lead to so many more design options (compared to your traditional upcycled bracelet or necklace simply made from a piece of bike chain and a clasp.)
